Sapphire v6 for OFX compatible products

To Download and install:

1. Make sure you have one or more of the following OFX compatible host products on Windows:

   Nuke	5.0v1 or greater
   Vegas Pro	10.0e or greater
   Fusion	5.2 or greater
   Fusion64	any version
   Baselight	3.3 or greater
   Nucoda/Phoenix (Film Master etc.)	2011.2.058 or greater
   SCRATCH	3.8 or greater

   • Attention Vegas Users: If you are upgrading from Sapphire v6.0, please see the release notes below before upgrading to Sapphire v6.03 to avoid hanging Vegas.
2. Quit any host applications that may be running.
   If you previously installed an older version of Sapphire Plug-ins, the new installation will just replace it. You should not need to uninstall it first.
3. Download the 6.03 Windows installer (43 Mb).
   Either run the installer program from its current location, or save it to disk and then execute it from wherever you saved it. Follow the instructions given by the installer. This installer is for both Windows 32 and Windows 64.
4. Restart your host application, and the new plug-ins should appear in your effects menu.

To view on-line documentation after you install the software, go to Start -> All Programs -> GenArts Sapphire OFX -> Online Help (HTML) or (PDF). You can also click on the "Help" button while using any plug-in.

If you are on Baselight and get a watermark with your installer-provided free trial, please request a trial RLM license by sending your company info, product details and Ethernet ID via the support form

New in 6.03:

• Corrected the gamma for lens flares in the Preset Browser.
• Fixed a problem with Deband on Mac.
• Place Flare Designer and Preset Browser log files in temporary directory if default location is not writable
• Improved render performance for the default lensflare
• LensFlare now correctly applies gamma to custom texture elements
• Fixed crashes and hangs with LensFlare in Fusion
• Fixed a bug that caused some presets to load incorrectly.

New in 6.02:

• Fixed a hang with HalfTone in Nuke for Mac.
• The Preset Browser should now launch more quickly and be more responsive overall.
• Preset Browser: fixed a bug that sometimes prevents thumbnails from rendering.
• Flare Designer: the Auto Rotate option now works for elements positioned at the pivot.
• Flare Designer: complex flares now load faster and take less space when saved.
• LensFlare: fixed a bug where Rays Rotate incorrectly affected Texture and Polygon elements.

New in 6.01:

• A bug with updating old Sapphire v5 projects to Sapphire v6 has been fixed. The fix for this bug affects projects saved with v5.X or v6.0. Please see below for your host to see how you're affected.
  • The affected Plug-Ins are: DissolveLensFlare, LensFlare, LensFlareAutoTrack, Glare, DissolveGlare, Flashbulbs, DissolveFlashbulbs
  • Nuke: Not affected
  • Fusion:
    • v5->v6: You will have to re-select your Lens.
    • v6.0->v6.01: Not affected.
  • CDV:
    • v5.04->v6.01: not affected.
    • v6.0->v6.01: not supported.
  • Scratch:
    • v5.04->v6.01: May have to re-select your Lens.
    • v6.0->v6.01: May have to re-select your Lens.
  • Vegas:
    • v5.04->v6.01: Not affected.
    • v6.0->v6.01: You should delete any plugins in the affected list above from your saved projects before upgrading. You can then add them back to your projects after you update.
  • Nucoda:
    • v5.04->v6.01: May have to re-select your Lens.
    • v6.0->v6.01: May have to re-select your Lens.
  • Mistika: You may have to copy and paste your parameters after upgrading.
    • v5.04->v6.01: Should not be affected
    • v6.0->v6.01: You may have to re-select your Lens
  • Baselight:
    • v5.04->v6.01: Should not be affected.
    • v6.0->v6.01: You may have to re-select your Lens.
